The exhibition Azul em Festa opens on Saturday, 17 May, at 3:30 PM at the Ílhavo Maritime Museum.
Curated by Fátima Marques Pereira and featuring artists Dayana Lucas and Diana Policarpo, the exhibition celebrates women's gaze, gesture, and presence within the symbolic and physical realm of the sea.
Marking the 50th anniversary of International Women’s Day — established by the United Nations in 1975 — Azul em Festa brings together works by women artists who explore the sea as a space that is lived, imagined, and transformed. It is a place where the intimate meets the collective, the body merges with the landscape, and history intertwines with the present.
